Preparing to Work With Children & Youth

Thank you for your willingness to serve our church’s families! At TCGF, we place a high value on the involvement of our children in a healthy, growing church body. It’s important we place safe, qualified people in leadership roles with our children.

PA legislation requires all volunteers and employees to complete background checks and child abuse clearances prior to working with youth. Our elders and deacons honor these requirements and are here to support you to meet them. Please review and complete the information below at the links provided. Step 1: Christian Service Form

TCGF asks that you indicate your interest in volunteering with a brief overview of your spiritual history and specific volunteer interests. Please return this form to Pastor Mark Boyer when completed.

Step 3: Child Abuse History Clearance

Step 3: Child Abuse History Clearance

The Dept. of Human Services provides this record check online, and it takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. You will need to provide past address information from 1975-present.

The State Police record check is available online and takes about 15-30 minutes to complete.

Step 4: Waiver or FBI Fingerprint Check

Step 4: Waiver or FBI Fingerprint Check

Those not a resident of PA for 10 consecutive years must complete the FBI background check. Reference Service Code # 1KG6ZJ when scheduling your appointment. If you have resided in PA for 10 consecutive years, please fill out the waiver in the "Resources" section below.

FBI Fingerprint Waiver

If you've lived in PA for 10 consecutive years, a fingerprint check is not required. Please download and fill out this waiver instead, and return to Chris Berleth for filing.
